These numbers are so beyond all reason that they don't even compute. I might watch Scenes from a Marriage next. I'm currently absorbed by The Morning Show which is unexpectedly intense, and also not greatly encouraging of the institution of marriage.

That's an eye-watering amount of money. I can only hope that we can keep our beloved NHS free. Hope all's well, dear. :-)

Our despicable despot of a premier would love to privatize our health care because he is a mean, little man (with a very tiny penis I'm guessing). He makes me feel sick to my stomach and has brought health care in Alberta to the edge of collapse, although some might say it has collapsed already. Most surgeries have been cancelled due to covid patient overload.

I'm sorry that the "best country in the world" can't get it's shit together and provide reasonable health care to all it's citizens instead of making some people really wealthy.

As for you ex, I spit on his shadow. Ptooey! You'll make an old Italian lady out of me yet:)

I will never stop circling back to the fact that my mother-in-law in England was born with a disability, and while she sometimes has to wait for treatment (but never when it's actually urgent), it sure beats going bankrupt, which is what their situation in the U.S. would have been.

One of my nieces has a random little cyst in her spine that seems totally benign but needs an MRI once a year for the rest of her life, for which my sister has to save up $2000 every year. Because.

that is one helluva copay! (Although, must say, I have a 7k copay on an upcoming surgery) Makes me want to get in the shower and weep. Hard to watch our very hard earned money FLY out the window.I am humbled by you ability to march on (with knee pain) through it all. And I'm sorry your ex is being so vicious - divorce can get so ugly (first hand knowledge). Don't you just want to scream, "Serenity NOW!"

Well, thank goodness for Marge, right? Holy shit. Those are some big numbers. I don't know why people always point to the fact that certain procedures done in countries with universal health care can take months to schedule. Same here. Right now I am thrilled with the way my recent medical emergency transpired and I must admit- somewhat astonished! I attribute that to being immediately shuttled into the emergency system which then gently delivered me to surgery. I feel like this was sort of a miracle.

Having a daughter who is in the midst of a divorce situation I will keep my mouth shut about that whole system but I will offer my opinion that men can be...to put it incredibly mildly...irresponsible. My heart is breaking.
