Imagine if women were paid what we're worth. I'm glad that at least you're paid for your caregiving. As to getting away for a few days of R&R, you need that to restore your sanity and your energy. Cargiving is a marathon, not a sprint.

Love the photo. Sendings hugs.

There is so much here to ponder.

What I would like to say though, is that you taking a two or three day little trip away to let your soul and body rest and be restored is as much necessity as anything I can imagine.

maybe there's a reason I refused to master math. It never really adds up, does it.

The indignities that caregivers are made to suffer are truly beyond the pale. In MA, where things are better than in other places for many things, spouses, siblings, or mothers are not allowed as PCAs. The rate of pay is not yet 17., while hiring from an agency now costs about 27. Per hr. I’m glad to hear that you can get some assistance to care for your beautiful Sophie. Now if someone would reimburse you handsomely for your “little mother mind!” You wouldn’t have to..... p.s. beautiful pic!

It is absolutely essential for you to get away regularly, you cant give from an empty cup, and you give give give, so you must replenish yourself. I love you.
