"We need our gaze to turn these men and women who uphold it to stone." You read my heart.

Mine too! I stayed staring at that line.

I’m exiting my daze and now I feel like one big raw exposed nerve. As I’m gathering my raging self, I feel no other option than to be louder, bigger, less agreeable, more formidable. What a perfect metaphor to keep in my pocket! Thank you, Elizabeth.

I am not sure I will ever recover from these latest blows. I feel as if my spirit has been finally been beat down past the point of recovery.

I'm not sure Medusa's snake-like hair is particularly phallic, but there's no doubt that many men are incredibly threatened by a strong, purposeful woman, and I think the story of Medusa undoubtedly contains elements of that misogyny. I occasionally read a right-wing news web site, just for kicks and to induce heartburn, and they are forever posting pictures of certain women looking angry: Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, AOC. It's obvious that those women scare the shit out of them.

I understand your sense of being dazed after this ruling. I have no idea what to do except keep pouring money into Planned Parenthood and the ACLU and hope they can get this clusterfuck reversed when we eventually reach a more stable time. We've got to drive these extremists back to the fringes where they belong.

Have you read Rebecca Traister's book Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Women's Anger? Do, if you haven't. And I heard her interviewed the other day, because...obviously, we're fucking angry.
