I don’t read many memoirs but will get Jody’s! Will order at my local bookstore. :)

I went through an intense Middlemarch period once. I think I read it three times in a year or so, the last time with some random online book group formed just for that purpose. It was a lot of fun to discuss.

Paperclips. I am thinking now, paperclips.

I love Middlemarch, too. I'm going to attend via Zoom a book club with Christopher Frizelle and read it again!

I'm reading the Covenant of Water. I needed to read something different than me. Thanks for talking to me. I needed it. Hugs, Paula

I love your posts. As a nurse, I work with disabled patients. I don’t know what it’s like to be the parent. I am sending virtual orange roses 🌹

They make me feel sick with their smug murdering selves. If you haven't given away the book already, I am interested.

Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for your post. Love the reading list. The wars, and other family events have me overwhelmed, but I’m working my way out of it. Reading and watching bad television, keep pushing me forward. Following you, Patti, and, Suleika gives me perspective.

Sending you virtual roses.

There’s so much to love about this post. Jody and Lueza. Gorgeous literature. Political commentary. Cat Power. 🧡

A wonderful list, Elizabeth. I've read only a few. Must get out my reading glasses. And Jody's memoir sounds inspirational as are all your stories.

I feel like I read all the time, but you have put me to shame. I am tackling yet another Dickens this fall, which is keeping me busy at the moment. Your story about your Orthodox neighbor is poignant. So often the solution to suspicion and mistrust and generalizing is simply getting to know each other as individuals.

Elizabeth- you DAUNT me. That reading list! Your work as a teacher, your life as a mother, your heart, your soul. And if you say a book is to be read, I will read it.

I've put the book on my

Amazon wish list. My husband never knows what to buy me for Christmas so I make sure there are lots to choose from on my wish list.

It’s the confidence and smugness that gets me. 🤬

I loved Rebecca wolf’s book! And I’m currently listening to Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and it is just what my nervous system needs.
