I went through an intense Middlemarch period once. I think I read it three times in a year or so, the last time with some random online book group formed just for that purpose. It was a lot of fun to discuss.

I feel like I read all the time, but you have put me to shame. I am tackling yet another Dickens this fall, which is keeping me busy at the moment. Your story about your Orthodox neighbor is poignant. So often the solution to suspicion and mistrust and generalizing is simply getting to know each other as individuals.
Elizabeth- you DAUNT me. That reading list! Your work as a teacher, your life as a mother, your heart, your soul. And if you say a book is to be read, I will read it.

I've put the book on my
Amazon wish list. My husband never knows what to buy me for Christmas so I make sure there are lots to choose from on my wish list.

I loved Rebecca wolf’s book! And I’m currently listening to Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and it is just what my nervous system needs.
